“I am interested in the archetypal characters which appeared after revolution and after some time have gained the properties of fictional creatures. They were used for visual agitation and propaganda among illiterate population, and as classical dolls on the demonstrations and mass marches, to inform people about the ideals of the new order. There were several main characters, I use three of them in the installation – bourgeois, pope, and worker. These figures are so common and familiar from the childhood, just like characters from fairytales or from ancient myths, which have become the figures of speech, have lost the materiality and corporeality, and any connection to reality, having turned into mythical ephemeral entities.”
